Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decree, according to which military personnel and security forces participating in a special operation in Ukraine, as well as officials seconded to new regions, are exempted from the obligation to provide information about their income and expenses. The corresponding document is published on the portal of legal information.

“During the period of a special military operation … military personnel, employees of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation … taking (took) part in a special military operation or directly performing (performing) tasks related to its conduct, in the territories of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Lugansk People’s Republic Republic, Zaporozhye region, Kherson region and Ukraine, persons sent (seconded) to perform tasks … filling positions, the exercise of powers for which entails the obligation to provide information about their income, do not provide such information, ”the document says.

In addition, during the period of the special operation in Ukraine, the publication on the websites of government agencies, organizations and the media of information on the income, expenses and property of Russian officials, provided in accordance with the law “On Combating Corruption”, is suspended.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia.
