Putin established the honorary title “Honored Worker of the Defense Industry”

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing the honorary title “Honored Worker of the Defense Industry”. Document published on the portal of legal information.

“In order to further improve the state award system of the Russian Federation, I decree: to establish the honorary title “Honored Worker of the Military-Industrial Complex of the Russian Federation,” the decree says.

The document comes into force from the date of signing.

According to the regulation, the honorary title is awarded to employees of defense industry enterprises and other citizens who ensure the implementation of the state defense order for personal merit. In particular, such a title can be obtained for the development of modern types of weapons, military equipment, for the production of products ahead of schedule, etc.

It is noted that the honorary title is awarded to employees who have worked at the enterprise for at least 20 years. Specialists employed in jobs with especially harmful and especially difficult working conditions can receive it no earlier than 15 years from the start of work at the enterprise. An important condition is also the presence of other industry awards from authorities or state corporations.

In January Putin named the work of the military industry is the most important factor in the victory in the special operation in Ukraine. According to the president, “from the point of view of <...> victory, which is inevitable, in addition to the work of the defense industry, the cohesion of the people of Russia and the heroism of the Russian military are also important.

In June, the head of state declaredthat Russian defense industry enterprises work in two or three shifts. Thanks to this, according to Putin, the production of weapons increased by 2.7 times, and for the most popular products – by 10 times.
