Vladimir Putin, who is running for president, does not have much time left for pre-election events in his schedule, said his press secretary Dmitry Peskov. Regarding the presidential campaign, Mr. Peskov advised contacting Mr. Putin’s headquarters.
“The fact is that the president’s schedule is, of course, extremely important, and this is the main priority. There is not much time in this schedule for pre-election events,” said the Kremlin representative.
Dmitry Peskov added that Vladimir Putin’s election campaign will not differ much from his standard presidential schedule. The schedule, he said, never stops for a day and includes regional trips, meetings and attendance at major events.
The Russian presidential elections will be held from March 15 to 17. 11 people are vying for the post of head of state. The Central Election Commission has already registered Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Vladimir Putin, who is participating in the elections as a self-nominated candidate. Candidates from extra-parliamentary parties and self-nominated candidates must submit signatures for their nomination to the Central Election Commission by January 31. The CEC must make a decision on registering candidates no later than February 10.
