Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to meet with Alexei Kudrin in the near future, who has submitted a letter of resignation from the post of head of the Accounts Chamber, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the head of state.

“Kudrin had the opportunity to ask for his resignation to the head of state. So far, there are no plans to meet with him in the near future. As for the candidates, we never announce the traditional ones,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

Speaking about the president’s reaction to Kudrin’s resignation, Peskov noted that “in such situations, there is hardly any place for an emotional reaction.” “They really worked side by side for decades. Kudrin himself, as you know, in his statement noted that he had in mind to continue to focus on large projects that affect a large number of people. One way or another, some intersections with the state will inevitably take place,” he said.

Kudrin earlier today confirmed resignation from the post of head of the Accounts Chamber. He noted that he had worked in the public sector for more than 25 years, and explained that now he wants to take on big projects that “have a significant impact on people.”

Chairman of the Budget Committee of the Federation Council Anatoly Artamonov also informed RIA Novosti that the Federation Council received Putin’s order to release Kudrin from the post of head of the Accounts Chamber. Later, at a meeting of the profile committee, it was recommended to dismiss Kudrin ahead of schedule.

The Bell Edition reported about Kudrin’s transition to “Yandex“. According to him, Yandex may have a new parent company, which will be registered in Russia. A specially created structure will be responsible for making key decisions in it, which will include the current top management of Yandex, headed by Kudrin, according to The Bell.
