Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone conversations with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov. About it informs Kremlin press office.

The leaders of the two countries touched upon aspects of further cooperation, including in the trade, economic, financial and humanitarian fields. Also, in the context of the chairmanship of Russia in the Eurasian Economic Community and Kyrgyzstan in the CIS, the presidents discussed issues of interaction within the framework of associations in the Eurasian space.

In addition, Putin and Zhaparov confirmed their intention to strengthen Russian-Kyrgyz relations, the Kremlin stressed.

The last time the Russian president spoke by phone with his Kyrgyz counterpart was on December 6, 2022. Then Putin congratulated Japarova happy birthday. The leaders also noted the high level and dynamics of Russian-Kyrgyz relations.

Last year, Putin met in person at Zhaparov several times. On May 16, 2022, the presidents talked at the end of the CSTO summit. Then the Russian leader noted that Russia occupies the first place in the trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan.

On September 15, Putin and Zhaparov met on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Samarkand. During the talks, the President of the Russian Federation announced that in 2021 Russia had provided financial support to the republic in the amount of $20 million. On October 13, the presidents also met on the sidelines of the Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia as part of the tripartite talks between the leaders of Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

At the end of March, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk informedthat Zhaparov may come to Moscow on an official visit on May 8-9.
