Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. They discussed the development of the capital over the past year.

“The results of 2023 in Moscow, I think, are one of the best in modern history. Good growth in production indicators that are important to us, such as pharmaceuticals, automotive, microelectronics – growth from 25% to 40%,” Mr. Sobyanin reported (quoted from website Kremlin).

The mayor of Moscow clarified that the city continues to grow in investment in real estate and housing construction. According to him, transport projects are working very well: passenger traffic on the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the metro exceeds 1.3 million people per day, and 400 thousand cars travel along the Moscow High-Speed ​​Diameter daily. Sergei Sobyanin added that the BCL brought more than 1 trillion rubles to the federal budget and extra-budgetary funds.

Vladimir Putin said that Moscow cannot be classified as “just one of the regions,” since the capital contains centers of science, education, and industry. They, according to him, are strongly connected with the economy of all of Russia.
