Putin discussed security in Nagorno-Karabakh with Pashinyan

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, discussed the security situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. About it reported in the press service of the Kremlin.

“Practical aspects of the implementation of the entire range of well-known agreements between the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in 2020-2022 were considered, including steps to ensure stability and security on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, restore economic and transport ties in the region and prepare a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan” , the message says.

The Kremlin added that Putin pointed out the need to resolve all emerging issues around Nagorno-Karabakh in a constructive manner, as well as in close contact between the parties and Russian peacekeepers.

The last time the telephone conversations were held on February 23 at the initiative of the Armenian side. According to the Kremlin, the leaders discussed the implementation of the trilateral agreements between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Later Pashinyan criticized actions of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, stating that the mission is not fulfilling its obligations. In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Kremlin noted that the peacekeepers are doing everything possible to ensure order in Karabakh.
