Russian President Vladimir Putin during a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council said that Russia is interested in Transcaucasia being a calm and steadily developing region.
According to the Russian leader, Russia has a huge number of ties with both Yerevan and Baku, so Moscow will try to do everything possible to contribute to a peaceful solution of the issue between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Putin stressed that Russia cannot remain aloof from problems and contradictions between states close to it, therefore the Russian Federation is invariably ready to help resolve them peacefully.
