Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants in the Russian special operation in Ukraine on Defender of the Fatherland Day. The congratulations were published on the Kremlin website.
“I would like to sincerely congratulate military personnel, volunteers, mobilized citizens, specialists of various professions who are participating in a special military operation on the holiday,” the head of state said in his address.
He pointed out that Defender of the Fatherland Day is a national holiday that symbolizes the heroic history of the Russian fleet and army, as well as the unbreakable bond between generations of defenders of the motherland.
Putin also addressed the veterans who “defeated Nazism, defended the freedom and independence of the motherland.” The President stressed that their exploits will forever remain in the historical memory of the people as a vivid example of patriotism and courage, and will become an inexhaustible source of spiritual strength.
