Russian President Vladimir Putin said that “you can take as many photos as you like” near the turbines for the Nord Stream gas pipeline, but we must not forget that this is Russian property.
The corresponding statement of the head of state was made on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
Thus, Putin, apparently, reacted to the actions of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who, during a visit to Canada, was photographed against the backdrop of a turbine for Nord Stream, which was undergoing repairs in this country. At the same time, the Canadian authorities refused to return the turbine, citing sanctions.
Also during his speech at the WEF, Putin said that Russia is ready to resume gas supplies via Nord Stream after the return of the turbine.
“Give us a turbine, we will turn on Nord Stream 1 tomorrow. They don’t give us anything. They say: here, they use it as a weapon. Putin said, adding that Europe has driven itself into a sanctions impasse.
