Russian President Vladimir Putin called unexpected the lack of payments for downed equipment in the area of the special operation. He stated this at a meeting with war correspondents.
“In my opinion, for a plane 300,000 [руб.]per tank – 100,000 [руб.] must pay extra. The fact that they do not pay is unexpected for me,” the president said. Putin promised to “definitely return” to the issue of payments for downed equipment for participants in the special operation at a meeting with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
On November 15 last year, the Zvezda TV channel published a memo, which indicated the amount of payments for each downed equipment in the special operation zone. Then they talked about payments for downed aircraft (300,000 rubles), helicopters (200,000 rubles), tanks (100,000 rubles), combat vehicles, drones (UAVs), anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), etc.
The military operation of Russia in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories, after holding referenda, became part of Russia.
