In addition, Putin stressed that Russian diplomacy will work towards the creation of a multipolar world, which is based “on equality, mutual respect and observance of universally recognized norms of international law.” Among other things, Putin said that on the agenda is the need to further increase interaction with responsible international partners, as well as expand cooperation in the SCO and BRICS format.
The head of state pointed to the role of Russian diplomats who thwarted the plans of Western countries to isolate Russia, and also stepped up cooperation with the countries of the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America and Africa.
“The best qualities of the domestic diplomatic service are in great demand today – in the context of the hybrid war unleashed against Russia, when it is extremely important to use foreign policy instruments with maximum efficiency to protect our state sovereignty and national security,” Putin said, congratulating the Foreign Ministry staff on their professional holiday.
