If the gas price limit is approved, Russia will start supplying it to other countries, the country is open to cooperation with any states. “Getting natural gas from Russia, for decades the economies of the leading European countries had obvious competitive advantages of a global nature,” Putin said. He drew attention to the fact that the demand for Russian gas in the global market is so great that there are no problems with the sale of energy resources. In particular, the demand for gas is growing in the Chinese economy, with which Russia has “stable agreements”.
In addition, now the EU gas market has ceased to be premium, Putin claims. According to him, pipeline gas from Russia has many more advantages than liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is shipped across the ocean.
He also noted that, if necessary, Nord Stream 2, the launch of which was frozen by Germany, could be turned on. “We have received the appropriate technologies and have worked them out. If necessary, please, we will turn on Nord Stream 2,” Putin answered the question of whether the pipeline was built in vain. As for Nord Stream 1, which was stopped due to a malfunction discovered on September 2, Russia is ready to resume its work tomorrow if Europe returns the gas-pumping turbine.
