Putin called on Russian citizens to take part in the presidential elections
The upcoming three-day Russian presidential election, starting March 15, was the focus of a message to Russians from President Vladimir Putin, who called on his compatriots to actively participate in the process. His speech was broadcast on Channel One.
Putin emphasized the importance of the elections as an event and recalled that these are already the eighth elections in Russia, which emphasizes the strength of the foundations of a democratic state.
“The election results will directly affect the future development of the country in the coming years. This is a key and responsible event. Therefore, as the current head of state, I consider it necessary to address you today,” the president noted.
The Russian presidential elections are scheduled for March 15-17 – for the first time they will be held in the country in a three-day format. Online voting will be organized in 29 regions of the country.
Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin himself.
