Putin banned Gazprom from buying gas from a joint venture with Wintershall and OMV above the established price

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the introduction of special economic measures in the field of gas supplies in connection with the unfriendly actions of some states. The document is posted on the portal of legal information.
Gazprom and its affiliates can no longer fulfill their obligations to foreign companies if their countries commit unfriendly actions against the Russian Federation.
The new law applies to gas supplies from areas of the Achimov deposits of the Urengoy oil and gas condensate field and from areas of the Yuzhno-Russkoye field. The Decree introduces a ban on payment for services related to mining in areas of the Achimov deposits.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Federation demands a transparent and comprehensive investigation of the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream. This message was published by the Russian embassy in the United States.
In 2022, the Nord Stream Aktiengesellschaft gas pipeline broke through on the night of September 26. There were natural gas leaks in two places on the highways. Nord Stream AG stated that the accident occurred on all three threads at the same time (one thread on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline). All damage occurred in the exclusive economic zone of Denmark northeast of the island of Bornholm, in the zone of maritime control of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
