Russian President Vladimir Putin began his first regional trip since the elections. He visited the city of Torzhok, Tver Region, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov said. The head of state plans to meet with cultural workers of the Tver region and with Governor Igor Rudenya.

“His visit is connected with the Day of Cultural Workers celebrated the day before. The President began his visit to Torzhok from the exhibition complex “Museum Rows” of the All-Russian Historical and Ethnographic Museum,” the Kremlin representative told reporters (quoted from TASS).

The President toured the museum’s exposition, got acquainted with the collection of birch bark letters and other exhibits. He plans to visit the Pozharskikh Hotel museum complex, where he will meet with cultural workers. According to Mr. Peskov, this will be “a fairly detailed meeting, a free conversation.”
