President Vladimir Putin arrived in the Sverdlovsk region, where he will visit machine-building enterprises in the region – NPK Uralvagonzavod in Nizhny Tagil and Ural Locomotives LLC in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. According to presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the president intends to inspect the production at Uralvagonzavod and talk with workers. In addition, at the plant he will be presented with combat vehicles ready to be sent to the troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Interfax reports.

At the Ural Locomotives site, Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting on the implementation of the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed railway construction project. The report at the meeting will be presented by the head of the Ministry of Transport, Vitaly Savelyev. In addition to him, the meeting will be attended by the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin, the head of Sberbank German Gref, as well as manufacturers of railway equipment.

JSC NPK Uralvagonzavod (Ural Carriage Works, UVZ) produces military products (tanks, mine clearance vehicles, combat repair and recovery vehicles and other vehicles), road construction machines and railway cars. 100% of the corporation’s shares belong to the Rostec state corporation. At the end of 2022, UVZ increased its net profit under RAS by 1.3 times compared to 2021, to RUB 5.78 million.

Ural Locomotives LLC (part of Sinara – Transport Machines) specializes in the design and production of electric freight locomotives and Lastochka passenger electric trains. At the end of 2022, the net profit of the Sinara group amounted to 9.65 billion rubles, which is 2.3 times, or 132%, more than in 2021 (4.15 billion rubles).
