Putin approved the strategy for scientific and technological development of Russia – Kommersant

President Vladimir Putin signed decree, approving the strategy for scientific and technological development of Russia. The strategy sets the main goals, objectives and priorities of scientific and technological development, and also determines the directions of state policy in this area.

The strategy provides the basis for the development of industry documents, national and regional government programs, as well as programs to support scientific, technical and innovative activities and institutions for innovative development.

According to the decree, the strategy was approved for the period until 2030. The Decree comes into force on the date of its publication. The previous decree “On the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation” dated December 1, 2016 was declared invalid.

February 8 Vladimir Putin discussed a new version of the strategy at a meeting on science and education. Then he suggested that the government include in the strategy an updated list of the most important and necessary high-tech technologies for the country and update the priority areas for the development of domestic science.
