Putin appoints former SOBR commander Yershov as deputy head of the National Guard

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Lieutenant General Vladislav Yershov as Deputy Director of the Russian Guard by decree. This was announced by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Alexander Khinshtein.
Mr. Khinshtein noted that earlier Vladislav Ershov headed the department of special police units of the Russian Guard, and also served in a special rapid response unit (SOBR).
“For many years he served in SOBR “Lynx”, where he went from an ordinary employee to a detachment commander. Veteran of both Chechen campaigns. Participated in dozens of special operations, including Buddenovsk, Pervomaiskoye, “Nord-Ost”,” Alexander Khinshtein wrote in his Telegram channel.
He also noted that the Lieutenant General was awarded ten state awards, including three Orders of Courage.
There is no information on the appointment of Vladislav Yershov to a new position on the department’s website. The presidential decree has not yet been published.
