Putin announced unparalleled latest Russian nuclear submarines

The latest Russian nuclear missile carriers, which are being created at the enterprises of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, have no analogues in the world in many respects. About it declared Russian President Vladimir Putin during the ceremony of hoisting the naval flag on the ships entering the Navy and launching the nuclear submarine “Emperor Alexander III”, in which he took part via video link.

“I will especially note the contribution to the creation of the nuclear submarine fleet of the enterprises of the United Shipbuilding Corporation – the Rubin Design Bureau and the Sevmash plant. The latest nuclear missile carriers, which are being designed and built there, have no analogues in the world in many respects,” he said.

The Navy now includes the Generalissimo Suvorov nuclear submarine, the Grad small missile ship, and the Anatoly Shlemov sea minesweeper. The Generalissimo Suvorov and the launching Emperor Alexander III are the sixth and seventh missile carriers of the Borey-A family capable of carrying Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Putin noted that these missiles significantly increase the capabilities of Russia’s nuclear naval forces. As part of the current state armament program, four more such submarines will be built, which “will ensure the security of Russia for decades to come,” he added.

“I emphasize that we will increase the pace and volume of building ships of various projects, equip them with the most modern weapons, conduct operational and combat training of sailors, taking into account the experience gained, including during a special military operation, in a word, do everything necessary to reliably to ensure the security of Russia, the protection of our national interests in the World Ocean,” the head of state concluded.

The construction of the Generalissimo Suvorov APK was completed in December 2021. The fourth-generation nuclear submarine missile carrier is equipped with the latest missile and torpedo weapons, navigation, radio engineering and sonar weapons. November cruiser completed all stages of testing.

Earlier in September, the Russian agro-industrial complex Omsk and Novosibirsk of the Pacific Fleet carried out training launches of Granite and Onyx anti-ship cruise missiles from the Northern Sea Route.
