Putin announced the “unusually good” development of economic relations between Russia and Belarus

Economic relations between Russia and Belarus are developing “unusually well.” This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during an informal meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

“And on security issues, on issues of economic cooperation – there is something to talk about. This cannot but rejoice us, but even unusually, pah-pah, unusually well – it is developing at a good pace in any case, ”- said Russian leader.

Putin added that the quality of interaction and the structure of economic relations between the two countries “are changing in the right direction.” According to him, the emphasis is not only on the “traditional sectors” of cooperation between Russia and Belarus, but also on high-tech areas.

Lukashenka also notedthat sees no economic difficulties in relations with Russia. According to him, “there are economic issues, but not problems” in the interaction between the two countries.

In early June, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin informedthat the trade turnover between Russia and Belarus in the first four months of this year increased by 11%, exceeding 1 trillion rubles. At the end of 2022, the volume of trade between the two countries grew by 12%, exceeding 3 trillion rubles.

Last December, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko declaredthat, as a result of joint efforts, Russia and Belarus were able to overcome the possible negative consequences of Western sanctions. At the same time, according to Lukashenka, not everything has worked out yet. “On a number of sensitive topics, governments have exhausted negotiating opportunities,” he said.

At the beginning of this year Golovchenko saidthat in 2022 Belarus for the first time ensured a positive balance of foreign trade with Russia.
