Putin announced the need to set up a barrier on the border with Ukraine

The FSB border service should set up a barrier on the border with Ukraine in order to prevent sabotage groups and illegal transportation of weapons, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a speech at the board of the special services.

“The Russian-Ukrainian section of the state border should be under the special control of the FSB border service …. Your task is to put a barrier on the path of sabotage groups, to stop attempts to illegally transport weapons and ammunition into Russia,” he said (quote by Interfax).

The work of counterintelligence as a whole should be strengthened, the head of state stressed, drawing attention to the fact that Western intelligence services are using additional resources against Russia. The work of the security agencies in the new regions should be strengthened, and the system for passing military convoys, humanitarian and construction cargo, as well as refugees across the border, should be streamlined.

In addition, Putin called on the FSB to identify and stop the illegal activities of those who are trying to split and weaken Russian society, using the ideas of Nazism, xenophobia and separatism.

“This has also always been applied to our country, and now, of course, these are more active attempts to activate all this scum on our land,” added the president.
