Putin announced the need to modernize the system of military registration and enlistment offices

The partial mobilization in Russia in the fall of 2022 revealed certain problems, it is necessary to change the system of military registration and enlistment offices. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a speech at an expanded meeting of the collegium of the Russian Defense Ministry.

“The partial mobilization carried out revealed certain problems, <...> which should be addressed promptly. I know that many measures are being taken, but still we need to pay attention to this and build this system in a modern way. First of all, it is necessary to modernize the system of military commissariats,” said head of state.

Putin recalled that 300,000 Russians were called up during the partial mobilization. According to the Ministry of Defense, 150,000 of them are now undergoing training at the training grounds. Putin clarified that some of the mobilized are also in the special operation zone. He stressed that this is a sufficient reserve.

Partial mobilization went on in Russia from September 21 to October 31. The Ministry of Defense announced plans to call up 300,000 troops, but according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, 318,000 people were mobilized because a large number of volunteers wanted to go to the war zone.

At the same time, during the mobilization activities, many reports were received from citizens about the organization of the draft, the quality of supplies and living conditions. At the end of September, Putin demanded to “correct all the mistakes and prevent them from happening again.” After that, the Kremlin reported that measures were being taken to improve the system.
