President Vladimir Putin, when asked whether Russia had reached a dangerous point in relations with Western countries, refused to agree that this line was “so dangerous.” According to him, Russia is ready to negotiate “with all participants on acceptable outcomes” of the conflict in Ukraine.
“I don’t think she (damn.— “b”) is so dangerous, I believe that we are acting in the right direction, we are protecting our national interests, the interests of our citizens, our people. And we simply have no other choice but to protect our citizens,” Putin said on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“We are ready to negotiate with all participants in this process about some acceptable outcomes, but this is their business – it’s not we who refuse negotiations, but they,” he added.
The president was asked if Russia could behave with Ukraine in the same “cynical and sophisticated way” as Western countries do. Vladimir Putin responded by saying that Russia has “a different philosophy, a different attitude towards life and towards people.” He said that Western countries have a material approach to everything, while Russia has a spiritual one.
The head of state also said that the events of recent months allowed him to make sure that 99.9% of Russians are ready to “give up everything” in the interests of the country.
The news is being added.
