Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping congratulated each other on the New Year. According to China Central Television, the heads of state exchanged congratulatory telegrams on Sunday, December 31.

It was previously known that The President of Russia congratulated a number of foreign leaders on the New Year and Merry Christmas. Of the European leaders, Vladimir Putin congratulated only Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
