Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the need to continue developing partnership between the two countries. The press secretary of the President of Kazakhstan Ruslan Zheldibay told about this.
“The need for further development of partnership in a wide range of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties was emphasized on the basis of mutual respect and in the interests of the peoples of the two countries,” said Zheldibay (quote according to TASS).
In the autumn of 2022, as part of the first visit of the newly elected President of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation, Putin and Tokayev discussed creation of a “tripartite gas union” with Uzbekistan. Then Zheldibay said that the parties agreed to hold detailed negotiations with the participation of experts from the three countries on this issue.
Tokayev arrived on a working visit to Russia from 8 to 9 May. He also attended the Victory Parade, which took place on Red Square in Moscow.
The Victory Day celebration was also attended by the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
