Putin and Lukashenko had a telephone conversation

The Presidents of Russia and Belarus had a telephone conversation on the morning of June 24, Vladimir Putin told Alexander Lukashenko about what was happening in the Russian Federation, transmits agency “BelTA” with reference to the press service of the head of the republic.

“The President of Russia called the President of Belarus this morning, a telephone conversation took place. Vladimir Putin informed his Belarusian counterpart about the situation in Russia,” the press service said.

Earlier today, the President of the Russian Federation in connection with the situation with the Wagner PMC and its founder Yevgeny Prigozhin spoke with an appeal to the citizens of Russia, to the personnel of the Armed Forces (AF), law enforcement agencies and special services, “to the soldiers and commanders who are now fighting in their combat positions.” He stated that all those who prepared an armed rebellion, “took the path of blackmail and terrorist methods”, will be punished – “they will answer both before the law and before our people.”

On the evening of June 23, on social networks associated with Prigozhin, on his behalf, it was announced about a missile attack on one of the rear camps of a military company and other statements were circulated. The Ministry of Defense stated that reports of attacks on Wagner PMC fighters are not true and are an “information provocation.” The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the Investigation Department of the FSB of Russia opened a criminal case on the organization of an armed rebellion against Prigozhin. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Putin was informed about what was happening. Today, the Ministry of Defense urged Wagner PMC fighters to “show prudence” and contact the ministry or law enforcement agencies in order to safely return to their permanent deployment points.
