Acting Governor of the DPR Denis Pushilin urged to move the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Russian border by at least 500 km, as the shelling of the border regions continues. About this he informed in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
“How far should we push back so that our settlements are not fired upon? At least now it needs to be pushed back by 500 kilometers. We understand the map of Ukraine and understand where the frontier could be. Well, probably along the Dnieper, along a natural barrier,” he said.
According to Pushilin, this may be followed by a regrouping of troops and rearmament, so it will be necessary to move the Armed Forces of Ukraine even further. “Until Ukraine is completely liberated, and without any variations — some region of Poland, some region of Romania, some region of Hungary — the situation will not end,” he added.
In mid-February, about the need to push back the “threat boundaries” said Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev. According to him, if necessary, it will be necessary to move the borders up to Poland. In this case, then, he believes, it will not be necessary to catch the remnants of “Bandera gangs in the Little Russian forests.”
