Acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin signed a decree on the removal of Konstantin Ivashchenko from the post of head of the administration of Mariupol. Such decree Pushilin signed on 22 January.

The former head of the administration of the Novoazovsky district of the DPR, Oleg Morgun, became the new head of Mariupol, follows from decree Pushilin on 23 January.

In November, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin reported that the Russian authorities planned to complete a three-year plan to restore multi-apartment housing in Mariupol in two years. According to him, 28,000 builders are currently working in Mariupol. The work is progressing at a “good pace”, now about 1250 objects are being restored, 150 houses are already ready.

On September 30, 2022, the President of the Russian Federation and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the regions joining Russia. On October 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed federal laws on the admission of four new subjects to the Russian Federation. Martial law has been introduced in four regions since October 19.
