Pushilin instructed to liquidate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic until August 31

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) must be abolished no later than August 31, should from the decree of the acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
“I decide to liquidate (abolish) the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic. <...> Complete the liquidation procedure no later than August 31, 2023,” the document says.
According to the decree, the liquidation commission should abolish the DPR Foreign Ministry. Sergei Peresada, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, has been appointed its chairman. He was instructed to assemble the composition of the commission within five days.
The liquidation commission will have to notify civil servants and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the DPR embassy in Russia, of the upcoming dismissal. They will receive payments in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of December 6, 2022, the document says. In addition, the commission was instructed to conduct an inventory of the property of the Foreign Ministry and the embassy.
The decree, signed by Pushilin on June 29, comes into force from the day of its official publication.
On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the regions joining Russia. On October 4, the Federation Council, following the State Duma, ratified all the treaties, and the next day Putin signed federal laws on the admission of four new subjects to the Russian Federation. As the Constitutional Court explained, the transitional period for the integration of regions in the Russian Federation will be valid until January 1, 2026.
In November of the same year, Acting Head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik signed Decree on the liquidation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the LPR. The agency was to definitively cease operations by June 1, 2023. Earlier in the month, from the post of Ambassador of the Luhansk People’s Republic to Russia was released Rodion Miroshnik. This decision was made due to the accession of the region to Russia, the press service of the Foreign Ministry explained.
