Pushilin estimated the damage caused by Ukraine at 1.3 trillion rubles

Since 2014, Ukraine has caused the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) more than 1.3 trillion rubles in damage. About it informed in an interview with RIA Novosti, Acting Head of the Republic Denis Pushilin.
“If we talk only about destroyed housing, then the figures are very approximate, since 2014 – 1.3 trillion rubles, even more than this amount,” he said.
Pushilin noted that the above figure does not take into account the damage from the destruction of enterprises and critical infrastructure of the republic. According to him, we are talking about a “sufficiently serious” amount. He added that the issue of compensation for damage from Ukraine would be decided after the successful completion of the special operation.
Former State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin declaredthat compensation to the residents of Donbass should also be paid by France and Germany, since the current situation in Ukraine is a consequence of the “deceitful policy” of these countries. He recalled the words of ex-Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel about the Minsk agreements and stressed that failure to fulfill obligations under them not only calls into question the credibility of European politicians, but is also a “crime”.
On February 22, 2022, Russia recognized the independence of the DNR and LNR. After that, the republics turned to the Russian Federation for military assistance “on the basis of articles 3 and 4 of the treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between the Russian Federation and the republics.”
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
