The Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) are thoughtlessly and chaotically shelling Artemivsk (the Ukrainian name is Bakhmut) in order to delay the restoration of the city, Denis Pushilin, the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), said on Soloviev Live.

As Pushilin explained, the shelling is connected with the fact that the beginning of the restoration of Artemovsk will become a new painful point for Kyiv. “They just delay this period. They survived this pain when the city of Artemovsk was liberated, and now they are simply trying to delay the second pain, ”said the acting head of the DPR, citing the example of how Mariupol is being restored.
Pushilin called the situation on the flanks in Artemovsk “quite difficult, but controllable.”
On May 20, the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin announced the capture of Artemovsk. On the night of May 21, the transfer of the city under the control of Russia confirmed in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated PMC “Wagner” and the Russian military with the capture of Artemovsk. At the end of May Pushilin emphasizedthat not only housing will be restored in the city, but also jobs and social infrastructure. In early June, Pushilin also promised restore the factory of sparkling wines in Artemovsk.
