Purely symbolically – Style – Kommersant

Spring perfumes are always the smell of white flowers and jasmine, a harbinger of hot summer days. “Kommersant Style” talks about the most interesting novelties and bestsellers with this ingredient in the composition.

“Intoxicating, sensual, exciting” – as soon as they do not describe the aroma of jasmine. The word “jasmine” itself comes from the Persian “yasameen”, which means “gift from God”; in India women often wear it in their hair as a symbol of good luck, and in Indonesia it is the main flower in wedding ceremonies. In ancient times, jasmine was used as an aphrodisiac, its essential oil was used in Ayurvedic practice.

Today, jasmine is one of the most commonly used ingredients in perfumery and can be easily mixed with other ingredients to achieve unusual and vibrant colors in finished perfumes. There are about 200 species of this flower, but only two of them stand out as the most valuable in creating fragrances: sambac jasmine and large-flowered jasmine. Sambac jasmine, also called Arabian jasmine, is richer and musky, while the large-flowered version is much softer and greener. Look for combinations of jasmine with sandalwood, tuberose, musk and spices in fragrances: with them, perfume compositions are attractive and memorable.
