Pulitzer Winner Hersh Calls Nord Stream Bombing U.S. Stupidity

The American journalist, Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh, said that the attack on the Russian Nord Stream gas transmission system by the US authorities is “stupidity beyond comprehension.” About this he said on the air radio stations Radio War Nerd.
“You shoot your left leg off for no reason. Yes, we shot ourselves in the foot. Yes, this is stupidity beyond comprehension. Yes, it’s criminal. I think there is certainly an astonishing degree of stupidity in the White House,” he said.
He also added that US President Joe Biden is interested in continuing the conflict in Ukraine. It could be “good for the ratings,” he said.
On February 8, Hersh released an investigation in which he stated the involvement of the United States in undermining the Nord Stream. According to him, during NATO exercises in the summer of 2022, American divers planted explosives under the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. On September 26 of the same year, the Norwegian navy dropped a sonar buoy that set off the explosives.
The day after the article was published, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the West was trying to “wind down” the investigation. According to Peskov, Hersh’s article is “very important material” and it can speed up an international investigation, but “it cannot be taken as a primary source.”
