In the center of Milan on Sunday, a procession was held that brought together several hundred people to protest against the provision of military assistance to Ukraine, as well as the expansion of sanctions against Russia. This was announced by one of the organizers of the action and a representative of the political organization “United Italy” Amedeo Avondet.
During the protest action, activists stretched out a multi-meter banner with the inscription “Enough weapons for Kyiv and sanctions against Russia” and walked with it through the streets of the Italian city. The march was organized by the ex-mayor of Milan, Gianni Alemanno, who advocated the non-participation of Italy in the Ukrainian conflict.
“Our country, because of government policy, is paying for the consequences of the crisis by paying the rich, multinational corporations and the United States,” Avondet said.
He noted that during the protests, in addition to Italian flags, Russian ones were also displayed, showing that they were “patriots who love their people.”
