Production of the largest Ukrainian metallurgical company decreased by five times

In 2022, ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih, the largest mining and smelting company in Ukraine, reduced production by five times. This was reported in the press service of the company.
“The current situation has put Ukrainian metallurgy on the brink of survival. The level of production at ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih fell five times,” the company said in a statement. They added that the company’s production capacities were loaded by no more than 20-25%.
During the year, the company produced 1.6 million tons of pig iron (29% of the planned volume), 1.2 million tons of steel (23.1%), 1.1 million tons of rolled products (22.8%), 1 million tons of coke (37 .3%), 4.5 million tons of concentrate (42.8%) and 11.6 million tons of ore (44%).
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih added that in 2022, the production volume of the steel industry in Ukraine fell by 70%.
In December, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Rostyslav Shurma spokethat in the fourth quarter of the year, industrial production in Ukraine decreased by 70%. According to him, the indicators may vary depending on the situation in a particular region and the power supply of a particular enterprise.
