Not a day without an attack
Houthi attacks in the Red Sea began in November. The most resonant and successful was the seizure on November 19 of the Galaxy Leader, co-owned by the company of Israeli businessman Rami Ungar. Regular attacks by drones, missiles, and boat attacks occur almost every day: on December 6, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) issued an official warning about the dangers of shipping in the area. On 11 December, UKMTO reported an attack on a vessel 15 miles west of Mocha in Yemen. The destroyer USS Mason came to his aid. On December 12, a missile attacked the Norwegian tanker Strinda. On 13 December, the UKMTO reported an incident “related to the safety of navigation” in the area of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait between the Red and Arabian Seas.
