Prime Minister of Ukraine called on the EU to ban student and tourist visas

The European Union needs to arrange a “cold shower” for the Russians, banning the issuance of visas to Russian tourists and students. This opinion was expressed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal in an interview with DPA.
Shmyhal believes that Russians cannot be divided into “good and bad”, and the very fact that Russians “live great” in Europe and go there on vacation is unbearable.
“Russian society needs a cold shower in the form of a visa ban for tourists and students,” said the Ukrainian prime minister (quote by Wirtschaftswoche).
On August 31, a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the EU countries was held in Prague, at which, among other things, the issue of a ban on issuing visas to Russian citizens was discussed. As a result of the meeting, the EU countries decided to terminate the simplified procedure for issuing visas. “This means that the number of visas issued will significantly decrease, it will be more difficult and longer to obtain visas,” said EU diplomat Josep Borrell.
Later, the foreign ministers of Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia said they intended to take additional measures on their own. In particular, they want to temporarily ban the issuance of visas to Russian citizens, as well as their entry with visas from other EU countries. Today, Bloomberg reported that it could also be a ban on entry for Russians to Poland, Finland and the Baltic countries by land.
Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia should not close and take mirror measures on EU visa restrictions.
