Cambodian PM warns of Ukrainian casualties if cluster munitions are delivered
The supply of cluster munitions to Ukraine, which was previously reported by the United States, could lead to Ukrainian casualties if used. This statement was made by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.
He noted that his country had been dealing with the consequences of the American army bombing with such munitions in the early 1970s for more than 50 years.
“Half a century has passed. Then there was simply no means to clear them. Have pity on the Ukrainian people, do not use these ammunition in the war, because the real victims will be peaceful Ukrainians,” the Prime Minister of Cambodia wrote on his Twitter account.
It is worth noting that earlier the United States announced another military aid package for Ukraine, which also mentioned DPICM cluster munitions. Many countries did not approve of such a decision, citing a document implying a ban on the use, storage and transfer of such ammunition.
