Prime Minister Kishida: Japan intends to conclude a peace treaty with Russia

Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, during his keynote speech at the plenary meeting of the lower house of the Japanese parliament, said that the country’s government intends to maintain the course of solving the territorial problem and concluding a peace treaty with the Russian Federation.
The head of the Japanese government noted that as of today, relations between the two states are in a difficult state. At the same time, he emphasized that the Japanese leadership intends to continue the policy aimed at solving the territorial problem and signing a peace treaty with Russia.
It is noted that in Kishida’s entire speech, only one phrase touched upon relations between Japan and the Russian Federation. In addition, during his speech, the Japanese prime minister again criticized the actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
