Prilepin intends to return to the NVO zone after recovery

The writer Zakhar Prilepin, who survived the assassination attempt, plans to return to the zone of the special military operation (SVO) after recovery, TASS reports with reference to the writer’s press service.

“Despite everything that has happened, Zakhar Prilepin again plans to return to the front after recovery, which will take at least six months,” said agency.

The writer noted that the circumstances of the assassination attempt were connected with his return from the NVO zone, since “it is even more difficult to search directly in the zone of fire damage in some senses.” According to Prilepin, he has phones with him there, he drives other cars and changes locations.

“But literally on April 25-27, information came that in Lugansk alone, where on the eve of my departure I began to appear a little more often, three of their groups were looking for me at once,” Prilepin said.

Prilepin’s car was blown up on the morning of May 6 in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result of the explosion, Prilepin’s assistant and ally, Alexander Shubin, a native of Lugansk, who previously served in the LPR, died. On the day of the assassination attempt, Prilepin underwent surgery, and a day later he spoke for the first time about the circumstances of the incident. In particular, he clarified that during the explosion he was driving, and Shubin was driving on the right in the passenger seat. The writer said that both of his legs were broken. Earlier this week took place the second stage of the operation, which was carried out by four surgeons.

On May 8, the Semenovsky District Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region sent Alexander Permyakov, accused of attempting to kill Prilepin, into custody for two months. Permyakov was charged with a terrorist attack (Article 205 of the Criminal Code) and illegal arms trafficking (Article 222 of the Criminal Code). Prior to this, the accused confessed to working for the Ukrainian special services.
