Prigozhin visited the head of the Russian House in the Central African Republic after the assassination attempt

Yevgeny Prigozhin, a businessman and organizer of the private military company (PMC) Wagner, said that he visited the head of the Russian House in the Central African Republic (CAR) Dmitry Sytoy in the hospital, who was hospitalized on December 16 after an assassination attempt. This was reported by the press service of Prigozhin’s company “Concord”.

The assassination attempt on Dmitry Syty was carried out in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, on December 16. The Russian Embassy in the republic specified that the head of the Russian House received an anonymous package with explosives inside. She detonated in his hands, Satiy was hospitalized. On December 19, it became known that Sytyi’s condition remained grave after the assassination attempt, and a decision was made to evacuate him to Russia.

Later, at the scene of the assassination, the CAR police found a note with a threat. “This is for you from all the French. The Russians will get out of Africa,” was printed in Russian on a narrow piece of paper. Later, the CAR police detained seven people who may be related to the terrorist attack. The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the assassination attempt on Sytyi and expressed hope that those responsible for it would be identified.

Ministry also caused French Ambassador and protested to him in connection with the statements of the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, regarding the assassination attempt. Prigozhin appealed to the Russian Foreign Ministry with a demand to recognize France as a sponsor of terrorism, accusing her of organizing the attack, the Concorde press service reported earlier.

In 2019, the American television channel CNN published an investigation into the activities of companies associated with Prigozhin. For a month, reporters of the TV channel collected information in the Central African Republic, and also examined documents confirming Prigozhin’s connection with the republic.
