The fighters of PMC “Wagner” advanced 100-150 meters behind the last essence during the battles for Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut), declared founder of the group Evgeny Prigozhin.
“Today, units of PMC Wagner advanced 100-150 meters, 2.98 square meters remained under the enemy in Bakhmut. km of the city’s territory,” Prigozhin said, his words are reported by the press service in the Telegram channel. The founder of the PMC also lamented that the fighters of the assault squads were again experiencing a shortage of ammunition.
On April 27, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, announced that Russian forces had taken control of the last section of the road used to supply the Ukrainian army in Artemovsk. According to him, now Russian forces continue to knock out the enemy from positions in the city. Fierce battles for control of the city have been going on for several months, the assault detachments are supported by units of the Airborne Forces and the “Southern” group of troops of the Russian Armed Forces.
Russia’s special operation in Ukraine has been going on since February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia.
