Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut) is located in the north of the DPR. On November 28, Denis Pushilin, acting head of the DPR, said that Russian troops were close to the operational encirclement of the city. In early December, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation declared about the successful offensive in the Artemovsk region.
At the same time, Andrey Marochko, an officer of the People’s Militia of the LPR, citing intelligence data saidthat the APU received reinforcements. Pushilin later announced fierce fighting on the outskirts of Artemovsk. He pointed to the reserves that the enemy was moving to hold the city, and did not rule outthat the situation can reach “to a complete encirclement”.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24.
