Now units of PMC “Wagner” control about 70% of Artemivsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut) and continue the offensive, follows from the appeal of the founder of PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Letter published Prigozhin’s press service in the Telegram channel.
“Currently, Wagner subdivisions control about 70% of the settlement. Bakhmut and continue the offensive for his complete liberation,” follows from the appeal.
In the letter, Prigozhin also warned that, “according to available information, in late March – early April, the enemy plans to launch a large-scale offensive and deliver flank cut-off strikes in order to cut off Wagner PMC units from the main forces of the RF Armed Forces.”
March 17, Acting Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin informedthat Russian units have entrenched themselves in buildings on the territory of the Vostokmash plant, located in the northern part of the Artemovsky non-ferrous metal processing plant (AZOM). He noted that now allied forces are successfully advancing deeper into the industrial zone. Pushilin also added that the Wagner assault squads continue to advance in the center of Artemovsk, “while knocking out the enemy in the northern and southern directions.”
Fighting near the city has been going on for several months. March 11 Prigogine informedthat the Russian military is 1.2 km from the administrative center of Artemovsk. On March 13, it became known that Russian forces cut off ways of transporting the reserves of the armed forces of Ukraine to Artemivsk.
