The founder of Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that a number of problems with providing the organization with ammunition remain. His words are quoted by the press service in the Telegram channel.
“The questions I asked about ammunition, unfortunately, remain completely unresolved. This is a serious problem,” Prigogine said.
He noted that Russia has ammunition, noting that “industry has reached the required volumes.” Prigozhin added that he was unable to solve this problem, “despite all his acquaintances and connections.” According to him, no decisions are being made in this direction.
Prigozhin said that he was offered to “go apologize” to the higher leadership so that the fighters would be given ammunition. He stated that due to the lack of weapons, “twice as many” members of PMCs and “other military units” that Wagner cannot cover are dying.
The founder of Wagner said that requests for ammunition are written daily and transferred “to higher authorities”, but, adds Prigozhin, “no one knows who should give an answer.” He stressed that those “who interfere with getting weapons are directly working for the enemy.”
War correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny has repeatedly pointed out the shortage of ammunition at PMC Wagner. On February 15, commenting on the situation in the Paraskoviyivka area on his Telegram channel, he stated that the fighters “have no fat ammunition.” On February 19, he reported that a flash mob had appeared on social networks calling for ammunition to be given to Wagner fighters.
Poddubny concluded that such a situation suggests that Prigogine “has exhausted the apparatus-bureaucratic possibilities.” He noted that the shortage of ammunition appeared “in the assault units, which absolutely cannot be stopped.”
