The presidents of the Czech Republic and Slovakia had to hide in a hotel shelter during an air raid in Kyiv, according to Český Noviny.
The publication also publishes photos of European leaders from the asylum.
The agency also reports that the stay in the shelter disrupted the daytime program of the head of the Czech state, Peter Pavel.
Earlier it was reported that the presidents of the Czech Republic and Slovakia – Peter Pavel and Zuzana Chaputova – unexpectedly arrived in Kyiv. The agenda of the visit of the two leaders of the former Czechoslovakia includes a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, as well as a visit to the Kyiv region.
The leaders of the Czech Republic and Slovakia were first delivered by a special forces military transport aircraft to Polish Rzeszow. Accompanied by a police escort, they arrived at the railway station, from where they went to the Ukrainian city of Nemishaevo, Kiev region, where they were met by ex-ambassador to the Czech Republic Yevhen Perebiynis and Czech ambassador to Kiev Radek Matula. The presidents, who are to visit not only Kiev, but other cities of the region, are accompanied by Czech and Slovak police officers, as well as Ukrainian military.
