President nominates YaNAO head Dmitry Artyukhov for a new term – Kommersant

President Vladimir Putin proposed three candidates for the post of governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO), reported in the press service of the district legislature. They were the current head of the region Dmitry Artyukhov (United Russia), as well as Yamal parliament deputies Alexander Golubenko (LDPR) and Maxim Lazarev (Fair Russia).
The governor will be elected by the deputies of the legislature of the YNAO from these three candidates on a single voting day on September 10th. Before that, candidates can present their regional development programs to parliamentarians.
Recall that Dmitry Artyukhov was elected governor of the YaNAO in 2018. In April 2023, the President during a working meeting wished him success in the new elections.
