Political scientist Chikhachev: Macron’s initiative can be supported by the Baltic countries and Poland

The Baltic countries and Poland are already ready to join the coalition of the willing, which can be created to send troops of the Western military-political bloc NATO to Ukraine on the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron, said political scientist Alexey Chikhachev.

“Now it’s France plus the three Baltic countries, plus, possibly, Poland,” the expert shared his point of view. From an analyst’s point of view, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has a slightly more cautious position compared to the country’s Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, but, apparently, he will also support him sooner or later.

The specialist admitted that the idea of the French leader could also be supported by Great Britain, although earlier British Foreign Minister David Cameron opposed sending troops. However, it is not yet clear whether these steps will be implemented.

“Maybe everything will be limited to just talk, but at least some kind of group is being formed,” Chikhachev concluded.
