Portugal after February 24 denied “golden visas” to all Russians

Publico writes that Portugal refused to issue “golden visas” to all citizens of the Russian Federation who requested them after the start of a special operation in Ukraine. According to the newspaper, from the end of February, when the country’s authorities suspended the consideration of applications for issuing such visas for Russians, 10 corresponding requests were received until August – for a residence permit in exchange for investments.
According to the publication, all requests were denied. Also reportedthat the country’s authorities are discussing the possibility of revoking the “golden visas” already issued to Russians.
Over the past 10 years, Russian citizens have received over 430 Portuguese golden visas, with a total investment of over 277 million euros.
